1 Day 1 Re.
We believe those who are reading this knows what Helping Together is and what it is supposed to do. Let we put it into words again. Helping Together is a pure voluntary organization which runs almost completely on contribution from its member. So how much does it receives from its members as contribution? An obvious question. As a matter of fact when we first thought of asking others for monetary help we had a dilemma as to how much we should ask for. A hundred rupee per month? Well it is Rupee one per day. We ask our member to contribute a rupee every day. It is not necessary for them to give just one rupee a day or thirty rupees a month. They are privileged to contribute whatever amount they wish but all we expect is a Rupee every day. We request our members to contribute a rupee every day. We know it won't be practically possible so what we do is we suggest our members that they maintain a sort of box or whatever of its kind where they could put a rupee everyday. We suggest them every night just before going to bed they put a rupee note or a rupee coin in that box. Sounds odd? It is but we believe it is of prime necessity when we have to build a strong bond between Helping Together and its member. The whole month you are busy with yourself. It never happened that you even thought about Helping Together, how it is doing and like, at the end of the month you just give thirty rupees for the whole month and then again forget Helping Together for another month. We won't be happy with that situation
If you are a student recall how much do you spend every day? When you are with your friends, in your school or college. On a date? How much did you pay for your pair of sneakers? And how many times you have to recharge your pre paid account in a month? I bet many of us spend a good portion of all the money that we have in things which are not of prime necessity. So if we expect a Rupee everyday form our member or from you will it be a matter of unjust? Think about it just a rupee! It is nothing or very little thing to you but it could make a difference. If you are a student then try bunking junk food which never comes with enough nutrition in it but which is always expensive. Instead have something good both for your health and for your pocket. This way you could save some money as well! How's that? Or if you are in a habit of SMS chatting which would reduce your account balance by Rupee one for every stupid SMS you send then set-up a reminder in your mobile which will prompt you every hour that you could save as much as Rs. 100 to 150 just by avoiding the forwarding of silly SMS you receive every now and then. We are not advocating that you'd then completely stop forwarding SMS but we believe the frequency would be reduced and then asking you a rupee every day would be well justified!
If it is true with students it is very true with grownups. You are a teacher, lawyer, engineer, doctor whoever you are it does not make any difference. It is same with us too. In every walk of our life we are spending much more than we really need. There are people in our country who even don't know that the luxury we are enjoying exists. They always think about what to eat and how to feed their children. If they could do it with fewer struggles it's their luxury.
