Why on earth are we taking
the trouble doing all this? Do we have cruel
intention doing this? We see none but if you
could site few do let us know as well. After
we started the whole project we’ve come
across lots of people. And we are very glad
that very few; we repeat very few asked this
question. Why do we do this? We do this because
of a belief, a belief that our small effort
could change someone’s life.

A porter works hard all
day carrying weights many more times heavier
than his own weight. He walks the street with
torn shoe. Cloths dirty, hands rough and hardened.
In his home way back some remote village he
has a family far larger than he could support.
After a long days hardship few hundred Rupees
is all in his pocket. Late in the evening
he goes to some cheap Bhatti and fools himself
thinking that he is relaxing. He is happy
with that. At the end of a month he would
send some money to his house which is never
enough. This way he and his family may never
have to sleep with empty stomach. He grows
older and weaker; his son grows younger and
stronger. One day his son would come to join
his father. The father would retire while
the son starts doing what his father used
to do. Now his son would walk with torn shoes.
His cloths dirty as well. Gradually his hands
get harden too. He would also have big family
back his village. At the end of a tiresome
day he would have few hundred Rupees in his
pocket as well. He would then go to same sort
of Bhattis his father used to go and fool
himself as did his father. Stereotype! It
is. Had the father saved little money so that
his son could join at least a government school
back in his village, what would have happened
then? If his son could have joined a government
school and had completed at least eight standards
or ten. He would not have to carry weights
on his back. He could have worked in his village
post office as a clerk or a messenger in any
government office or so. After him his son
would join a much better school than he did
and his son would study more than his father
did. And a day would come when children from
that family would be going to colleges and
universities for higher studies, some would
be doing good jobs with a good pay or may
either run their own small business. Sounds
great? It is great indeed. It takes time.
Here we are talking about transforming a life
and it does take time. |
Many of us must have
seen the transformation. Your father took
the trouble to study while his neighboring
friend did not. After him you get into the
trouble going school and then colleges and
then universities while your neighboring friends
did not. At one point of time in the history
both the family shared same social and economical
status but at present there is a huge difference
between two - be it social, cultural or financial.
Education makes huge difference in the way
you think and the way you think is all that
matters. |
My name is Mr. Privileged
and I was born in a rich family. His name
is Mr. Underprivileged and he was born in
a poor family. What!!!??? Didn't get it? Well
the point we are trying to make it over here
is that nobody chooses. It is simply not possible
to choose where he/she would like to take
birth. If there were options as such Choosing
Mr. Underprivileged would have chosen to take
birth in a rich family. We are lucky to have
taken birth in a family which could very well
support us. Feel secured not proud. So for
those who find it hard to support their families
we should offer our help. Should not we? We
are just trying to do this. |
Very true we should help
those who are in need. But the question remains
what should we do? Give few thousand rupees
every month? Or pay their utility bills? What
about helping them with food and shelter?
Though not bad, best could still be done.
Instead of helping them in a way which would
solve their problems temporarily why not try
and do something that would solve their problem
permanently? Why not educate their children
if they could not do by themselves? |
| Make yourself aware that there are hundreds
of people who are in need. There are people
who could not even feed their children themselves.
If we are one of few lucky people who could
support ourselves then we must do something
for those who could not. We are not trying to
be Heroes advocating that we should help others
and all blab blab. Not at all. Life is too short
for that. The idea is not to cut yourself off
from the world and devote your entire being
in charity & benevolent but the idea is
that compared to what we ought to be we are
only half awaken. We are capable of doing so
many things that we habitually forget to do.
So let's come together. Ask yourself what you
can do for others. Contribute a rupee every
day to our organization. We ensure your help
will pay. |
